Car lights
A car must be equipped with lighting. The car must be equipped with:
- Two parking lights (white or yellow).
- Two dipped beam headlights (white or yellow)
- Two or four full beam headlights (also called high beams) (white or yellow; when full beams are on, a blue/purple indicator light must illuminate on the dashboard).
- Two taillights (red).
- License plate lights (white).
- One or two rear fog lights (red; when the rear fog lights are on, a warning light must illuminate on the dashboard).
- Turn signals: two at the front (white or yellow), two at the rear (amber or red), and one turn signal on each side (amber).
- Two or three brake lights (amber or red).
- Hazard warning lights (same color as the turn signals).
- One or two reversing lights (white).
- From 2011 onwards, all new cars must be factory-fitted with daytime running lights.
A car may also be equipped with the following lighting:
- Two front fog lights.
- One roadside light.
- One turning light.
- Parking lights
A car must also be equipped with two rear red retro-reflectors. These retro-reflectors may not be triangular; triangular retro-reflectors may only be mounted on the rear of a trailer.
