Tyres and wheels

Tyres and wheels are among the most essential parts of a car, as they are in direct contact with the road and influence safety, comfort, and performance. A wheel consists of the rim and the tyre that wraps around it. A rim can be made of steel. The often more attractive and, of course, more expensive rims are made of alloy.
Pneumatic tyres are mandatory for all wheels. These tyres have several requirements:
- The tread depth must be at least 1.6 millimeters.
- The tyres must have the correct pressure.
- You must regularly check the tyres for damage and inspect the tread for glass, stones, or any similar debris.
- Valve caps must be installed.
- You must be able to change a wheel yourself.
- Also, regularly check that the wheel bolts are still properly tightened.
The minimum recommended tread depth for winter tyres to function correctly is 4 millimeters. Winter tyres begin to function properly at an outside temperature below 7 degrees Celsius.
