Blue flashing lights

Drivers of police, firetrucks, ambulances, and other government-designated emergency vehicles are permitted to use blue flashing lights and a two- or three-tone horn when performing an urgent task. We then call them emergency vehicles.
You are only required to yield to these vehicles if they are using an audible signal and blue flashing lights.
Drivers of emergency vehicles are permitted to use blue flashing lights if necessary to alert other traffic to a dangerous situation, such as an accident.
Yielding priority to an emergency vehicle does not mean that you, as the driver, are permitted to violate the rules. For example, ignoring a red traffic light to give way to an ambulance is socially responsible, but you may receive a fine for doing so.
