Motor vehicle

motorvoertuigen

Any vehicle equipped with a motor is a motor vehicle, except vehicles for disabled persons, pedal-assisted bicycles (so-called e-bikes), snorfietsen, mopeds, and brommobielen. These vehicles do fall under the category of motor carriages.

Vehicles that travel on rails, such as a tram, train, or metro, are not classified as motor vehicles, nor are they classified as motor carriages. They are, of course, VEHICLES.

A brommobiel is not a motor vehicle according to the definition below.
However, a brommobiel must comply with the rules that apply to a motor vehicle! Unfortunately, we can’t make it any easier.

Article 1 of the Road Traffic Act (RVV).
Motor vehicles: all motorised vehicles except mopeds, pedal-assisted bicycles, and disabled persons vehicles, intended to be propelled other than by rails.
