Overtaking and lines on the road surface

If there is a solid line on the road dividing the carriageway into lanes, you may not cross this solid line. If there is a broken line between you and the solid line, you are allowed to overtake.
The picture shows a solid line next to you. You are not allowed to overtake, but you can expect overtaking oncoming traffic.
A solid line at the side of the carriageway is an edge line; you are allowed to cross it.
These two images show broken lines applied to an autoweg. The green stripe in the middle is continuous, but you should pay attention to the white lines. In both situations, you are allowed to overtake if this is safely possible, of course.
