The Three Right-of-Way Rules

At junctions without traffic signs regulating priority, only three priority rules apply. If you apply these three rules to every CBR question, you cannot make any mistakes in the priority section of the theory exam.
What are these priority rules?

Rule 1:

At junctions, drivers give way to drivers approaching from the right.
The following exceptions apply to this rule: Drivers on an unpaved road give way to drivers on a paved road.

Of course, you also have to deal with other special vehicles such as trams, funeral processions, and military convoys.

You may also encounter special roads such as roundabouts and exits.
These special roads and road users are discussed in the next chapter.

Rule 2:

Drivers intending to turn must give way to traffic approaching them on the same road, and give way to traffic travelling straight ahead on the same road next to or close to the driver on the left or right side.

Easier said: On the same road, straight ahead, traffic goes for turning drivers on this same road.

Rule 3:

Drivers turning left must yield to oncoming drivers turning right at the same junction.
