Traffic lights with arrows

If a traffic light has an arrow, it only applies to that direction. Traffic coming from other directions then faces a red light and must yield to you.

In the photo, you can see that the traffic light has an arrow pointing in a specific direction. Now that it’s green, you can turn left without worrying about other traffic. The light is red for them. Note: We’re not saying no one can come. Many people run through red lights, whether intentionally or unintentionally. This is a common occurrence, especially at night.
