Crossing place

The image above shows two crossings: a pedestrian crossing and a crossing for cyclists and mopeds.

A pedestrian crossing is often referred to as a zebra crossing. We feel free to continue using it as long as you understand its meaning. When approaching a pedestrian crossing, you must yield to pedestrians and drivers of vehicles for disabled persons who are crossing. This also applies to pedestrians and drivers of vehicles for disabled persons who intend to cross.

You are also not allowed to overtake vehicles directly before or on a pedestrian crossing.

Sign J24 warns you of a crossing for cyclists and mopeds. Unlike a pedestrian crossing, you do not have to yield to cyclists or mopeds. If you see shark’s teeth at a crossing for cyclists and mopeds, you must, of course, yield to cyclists and mopeds.

It is prohibited to stop on or within 5 meters of a crossing place. This applies to both pedestrian crossings and crossings for cyclists and mopeds.
