Pre-sorting lane

Pre-sorting lanes are found at junctions where there are separate lanes for different directions.
Arrows on the road surface indicate these directions.

Once you are in a pre-sorting lane and solid lines are displayed next to you, you are no longer allowed to change lanes. As long as the block markings are present, you may still choose a different direction.
If you have chosen a pre-sorting lane with an arrow pointing left or right, you are obligated to follow the chosen direction at the junction. At the junction, you may not decide to drive straight ahead. You may choose a different direction before the junction, as long as you do not cross a solid line.

Article 78 of the RVV
1. Drivers following the carriageway are obligated at a junction to follow the direction indicated by the pre-sorting lane they are in. A bicycle lane located in a pre-sorting lane is part of this pre-sorting lane.

2. Drivers leaving the main carriageway and entering a deceleration lane are required to follow the arrows displayed therein in the direction indicated by the exit lane they are currently in.

If you are driving in a deceleration lane or a combined acceleration/deceleration lane and there are arrows on the road surface indicating the direction, you must continue in that direction once you have passed the first arrow.
